Easy as Pie
Hi! It's me, Lily!
We used some of our home grown blackberries to make a pie yesterday and we wanted to share how we did it with you!
It was so easy~even a kid can do it!
Before we got started, I helped mommy do some cleaning in her spice rack by eating the Halloween sprinkles from 2009. Some things really are better with age.
Then it was time to get to work.
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Pat a Cake

We chose the shortcut version and used a frozen pie crust.
Mom! We need to get mixing the berries or this pie will never be ready!
Add 2/3 cup sugar to 5 cups blackberries.
Then add 3T cornstarch.
1...2...
3!
In a separate bowl put 3T of jelly.
We used plum and strawberry so we could do a little more cleaning out.
Whisk until thin and add to the berries.
Gently mix.
Mom it's ready!
I said it's ready!
AWWWWWW!!!
OK. You ready?!
Dump the berry mixture into the pie shell.
Fold over the edges and sprinkle with sugar.
Pop it in the oven for a really long time...45-50 minutes.
Pass the time by picking mom a Birthday bouquet.
Beautiful!
Share with someone you love.
Dig in!
And here's the recipe we used.
Happy Memorial Day!
