Frozen Brains
Saturday's weather froze our brains, I think. First, we arrived at the Weld House with no tools. After returning with the tools, Jason hurt his hand and then dropped the bag of screws...but he did not get discouraged. The guys finished flooring the garage loft.
While us girls (dressed like men) worked on a kids' closet door.

Next, the guys worked on the wall between the garage and the house. This picture reminds me of the pictures last winter. At least this year, we are out of the wind!
To complete the day of "things going smoothly" we noticed we did not have any screws to match the tin...so all the sheets (except one) were put up...but held together with only a few screws until we get some more... To celebrate the frozen brain day, the Welders BBQd in the freezing cold...with the BBQ pit, the chiminea, and the propane heater, it was kind of toasty!
That is a very nice house, I can't believe it was framed out with metal. Did you do it yourself or have a very competent builder?
ReplyDeletecant wait to see it finished.
Thanks, Chris. Jason (my "builder" husband) drew up plans, then we hired a friend, whose name is Chris actually, to weld the main frame of the house and garage. Jason, my dad, and I then welded (well, I helped hold up the iron)the walls, windows, etc. We hired helpers to put on the rock, but we installed the sheet metal walls, roof, and pretty much anything else you see. The other jobs we hired helpers were the slab and plumbing. We are trying to do as many of the projects that we can, which is time consuming, but gratifying.
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to see it finished either! Thanks for your comment.
Looks great hurry up so we can have a party.
