O' Christmas Tree

Tuesday night, the Welders got their Christmas tree! The Welding Wife was somewhat hooked on the idea of buying a potted pine or cedar tree that could later be planted at the Weld House. The selection at Home Depot was quite puny, it was raining and very cold, and she had a meeting to be at soon, so she gave up quickly, and pointed to the best looking, real (cheap) tree she saw. The Welder hoisted it on his shoulder and off they were to the wife's tenant meeting for her shop...a great place to get items to put under your own trees and stockings! Visit www.beeangels.blogspot.com for more info and a sneak at some of the goodies.
After arriving home, the Welder improvised and found some type of tool to cut off the bottom of the tree...you see, our yard tools and chain saw are at the Weld House. You are supposed to cut off the bottom to make it fresh and ready to soak up the water. The Welding Wife cooked an easy, skillet dinner and then it was time to turn up the Christmas tunes and get to work decking out the tree. We have no theme-just lots of ornaments that have special meaning...and in the past we have done all white lights but must have organized things differently last year, so added in a few multi-colored...we found the other white strands later, but color is good for a change. We are easy to please and just work with what we have!
Taa Daa! Here is the finished product. The top of the tree is a little wild. Last night, it kind of bothered me and I wanted it sawed off with an imaginary saw...but after seeing it in this picture, I think it grew on me, and I want to keep it as is!
I also did a few more things to spruce up the house. Maybe if it is ever not dark when I am home, I will take some pictures to show you. (Pictures with real sunlight and no flash usually turn out so much better for me!)
So when do you decorate for Christmas?
We normally do soon after Thanksgiving and I usually clean it up soon after Christmas. We take our tree to be recycled into mulch and we normally get a free sapling to plant for participating. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
