Lots of Coats...

Sunday we headed out to the Weld House to finish up a few loose ends. Most of these pictures look like ones you've seen before...but after talking to Jason this morning, this may not be the case this coming weekend ;)Here Jason is redoing the pair of shutters that were on the top peak window. We decided that one still did not quite match the other four going across the front. Two reasons: the wood was a different, darker batch and we left the dog eared picket on top. He cut these pair down to fit the bedroom window, which is the only window on that side of the house, in case it still looks a little off... He replaced the across pieces too since he nailed all the others on the back to keep the screws from showing. He was one cross piece short, so made his own out of a leftover piece of tongue and groove cedar we had from the front door.
Mom gave the balcony I-beam another coat.
I gave the shutters their second coat.
And then mom gave the beam a third coat.
This week we hope to finish doing minor things such as hanging the shutters and getting our plan and materials ready for this weekend. Stay tuned.
