Redemption

I thought some of you might like a quick recap of what's been going on around the Weld House. I've been slacking with the posts...and the Welders have been slacking with the work compared to normal. Thursday, preparations for the shop slab took place.
Bright and early Friday morning, the slab was poured.
And worked on.
Thursday, the Welding Wife's shop moved (again). Bee Angels is now located on the front wall of Spice Village. I love having a window! The Welders plan to construct new signage since the other one is old and been through a lot of moving. I'll share some pictures of the finished product if you'd like...and probably even if you don't like.
Friday after work, we paid our nice neighbors a visit.
After a pile of compost was loaded, we had a fun Happy Hour and on Sunday we were invited back for homemade Gumbo, which was delicious.
Saturday Mr. Welder added the compost and tilled the garden.
Just look at the John Deere coming in handy. Boy does thoughts of gardening make me yearn for Spring...as I sit here typing with ice cube fingers that could chip off any minute.
Here is a closer shot of the shop slab.
And look at that dirt work. That's not dad on the tractor-that's Mr. Welder! Mr. Welder has many strengths, but dirt work never made the list...until this weekend, when he totally redeemed himself with this project. Way to go! And just in time for the wonderful rain that came Saturday night into Sunday morning. Really cold weather is forecasted for most of the week, but hopefully those Welders will be more productive.

  1. If you have not already done so, you may want to join the Heart of Texas Freecyle club. It's free and is made up of folks who like to give stuff away (for free) and folks who want to get stuff (for free). I just saw a posting for "lots of wood, some barn wood" and thought of you. If you're interested, I can send them a message on your behalf. Just let me know.
