Proud Parents
Wednesday evening the tractor was once again converted into a fork lift (Jason always knew this tractor would be so handy) to move the pallet of rocks for the kitchen back splash.
We bought thin cut natural Austin Stone that matches the rock on the hearth. We should be getting the stainless steel countertops next week and then the back splash can be installed.

Mom heard my plea once again and came to the rescue.
Notice anything strange sneaking from under the wood? Surprise, another ugly wire. Because we did not have enough random wires hanging around, Jason notched the underside of the boards on this row of flooring to sneak a wire to the other side of the game room. Then it ran behind the tin wall and now hangs at the top of the wall. (I forgot to take a picture of that...don't worry, it's not cute.)
Then we had a few visitors. Jason's sister, Mumbles, and Trigger. We were all upstairs (well, except mom since she is the dedicated worker) talking. Daisy knew there were other pups up there. We called and tried to get her to come up but she just stayed glued to the spot at the bottom. I am sure I mentioned this before. But to remind you, Daisy is terrified of stairs (well, if it's more than about three in a row.) Jason even held Trigger at the top trying to make Daisy jealous enough to come on up there already. We kept talking, when I heard some clunking on the stairs. I snuck over to look and there was Daisy slowly making her way up. As soon as she saw me, she turned around and went back down. By this time she had every one's attention, with determination in her eye she came back up and almost made it, but changed her mind and cried the entire way back to safety. It was quite heartbreaking. But as soon as she made it down, she turned right back around and went all the way to the top with her mom and dad cheering in the background.
And the shaking Daisy made it to a victory hug from her dad and a congratulations kiss from Trigger.
And glee. After all this time, Daisy finally paid a visit to the second floor. She always wondered what was up there and was happy to discover it was not an endless cliff but quite similar to the first floor. Huh, if she'd only known.
I think all the commotion of cheering and nail guns blasting was a little more than Mumbles was used to. He decided to find a safe place to rest.
Daisy just couldn't let Trigger know about her fear. She desperately wanted to be the brave role model. And she succeeded.
Now that the scary part was over, it was time for some fun with her new friend.
Boy, she never imagined all she was missing out on.
