AlLURing Decor
Saturday, Mrs. Welder decided to spruce up the Poinsettias with some scrap burlap. She took this picture to give any sprucer uppers a hint that took her a while to figure out. She trimmed the gold paper down but left it at the bottom to help water proof the plant. The plate was also kept inside the burlap sack. After struggling to tie a piece of jute around the pot to hold the burlap in place, the clothes pin idea light bulb went off and saved the day.
Then it was easy to tie a bow. The clothes pins were removed and the burlap was trimmed to help it stand up instead of flop down in the areas where it was longer.

Simple (with help from the clothes pins) and pretty.
Mom arrived and brought her old Christmas tree to decorate the game room upstairs.
After mom strung the lights, they decorated it fishing style.
We used an old lantern in place of a star and added bobbers and lures to the collection of other fishing ornaments the Welders have collected over the years. A fishing net was used for the tree skirt and Grampy's tackle box and a tin embellished with a fish served as the "gifts."
Love the fishin' tree! You guys are just too creative!!
ReplyDeletePS: where do you get all that energy?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThe tree just kind of fell together-I do like how it turned out. Glad you like it too. Energy?! When you have a to-do list that looks like mine-you just keep going and do not really think about it. It probably has something with being hard headed. Thanks for your comments :)
