Clean Enough to Eat On?

Sunday, after making it to early church (on time! must have been that extra hour we gained), it was back to window washing.
Dad was back on the scene and began by installing the toilet upstairs.
Mom stepped in to vacuum the walls.
Mr. Welder served up some burgers.
While my dad installed the chlorinator on the septic tank.
Heather posed by the kitchen counters being used for something "kitcheny" opposed to hammers and paint brushes for the first time.
And we all enjoyed a picnic lunch.
I am not sure if these pictures are out of order or if Mr. Welder just BBQ'd all morning. I am thinking they are not in the correct order, but either way, he accomplished trimming the other kid bedroom and it looks great.
And the laundry room now has baseboards.
Here is the toilet. All we need is a sink.
The gals enjoyed the nice weather and continued washing windows. I cleaned the glass.
Mom cleaned the screens.
And Heather swept the house.
That is until she was recruited by dad to assist in cutting off the bottoms of the doors and rehanging them. As you can also see, Mr. Welder continued with the wood work and I continued by cleaning the back door.
All of the doors were back in place by the end of the day! Some are completely finished (besides knobs) but some are still bare wood. We have not decided what we want to do with them.
The hall was trimmed with baseboards.
And before going to dinner, the guys moved the island and put on the Corian top to see how it looked.
It is a little long, which will be trimmed. It could have used the extra on the width to overhang a tad more on the side facing you, but after doing a stool test (that sounds gross but I am not sure what else to call it), we decided that we like it and will not do a lower section for chairs but use stools...and the free piece of Corian. Thanks, mom and dad.
After our weekly family dinner, the Welders headed back. Daisy went straight for the fresh pile of cedar shavings and pretty much hung out there all night.
Mrs. Welder started cleaning upstairs. Everything is extra dusty up here from when the floors were refinished. I came up with some tricky ways to get the vacuum to reach high places. Positions you should not try at home. Like a stool with a bucket sitting in the seat, with the vacuum (minus the wheels-which luckily can be taken off) sitting on the bucket with me on a ladder vacuuming the A/C duct. Or the vacuum (minus the wheels) sitting on the top rung of the ladder with me behind stretching and reaching the peak of the hut. I am glad there are no pictures (except this one where I am only on a step ladder that is not visible) since I could have ended up on one of those emails showing stupid things people do. I only like to share my stupidity with you guys.
Mr. Welder installed the baseboards in the den leaving the metal wall where the hearth is unfinished. We have another project involving lockers that needs to be figured out before those baseboards are installed.
Baseboards in the master closet were put in place.
And then Mr. Welder worked on the front door threshold. (You can also see the board I stained for the stairs to the right.) This threshold is on our list of things to be completed before we move anything fluffy, soft, or tasty since without it there is a gap and I recently found acorn and chewed paper towel evidence. This good idea was confirmed when a mouse ran right up to Jason and put on his brakes when he saw that a giant was in his normal entrance. I think Herman has his work cut out for him at the Weld House.
